JESSE CLEMENTS’ STORY

From Career Crossroads to Directorial Success

Director of Professional Services at Iris Solutions, Client Duration: 6+ Years

Before you started working with me, how were you doing?

I was not happy with my professional circumstances. I struggled with the choice of remaining with my current employer and seeking employment at a different firm.

What are/were your goals? What did you want? Why get a coach?

Professional and financial growth. Maximizing my potential My wife is a psychologist, so I understand the importance of having someone who is not emotionally invested with whom to discuss current circumstances and goals.

How are you doing now that you’ve started working with me?

I’ve been promoted three times, and I am literally making more money than I ever have in my professional career. I also enjoy a great deal of autonomy and flexibility in my work.

Have I been a catalyst for change in yourself and your life? If so, how?

Yes. You’ve helped me address areas of my personality and thought process that were potentially limiting my growth and helped me see the value that I present and therefore should receive.

How do you feel about having me as your coach? What benefits come to mind? Do you feel confident and in control? What else?

I feel like I have someone in my corner who can see the matrix in a way that’s different from my own vantage point. Someone who is well-versed in the proper mindset and behaviors that bring about accelerated growth Someone I can trust I do feel much more confident and in control of my professional destiny. I feel empowered like never before.

What results or success have you had since working with me? How has coaching contributed to it?

I went from a technician with good soft skills to a director and right-hand for my CEO. You literally helped me craft my pitch for the promotion to director.

What do you like best about me and my coaching? What is my biggest impact on you?

I appreciate your Socratic method of guiding me towards insight with your questions. It’s not a sermon or a one-way conversation.

What surprises you most or makes you happiest about working with me as a coach?

This is probably not a good answer, but I enjoy our tangents. They may not be directly related to my goals, but they are always insightful. You are a real human being with a personality and sense of humor. Our conversations don’t ever really feel like coaching; however, the proof is in the results.

What character qualities would you use to describe me to someone else?

Insightful. Poignant. Kind. Shrewd.

Did I meet your expectations as a coach? Would you recommend me to others?

Yes. Of course.

Have I been a catalyst for change in yourself and your life? If so, how?

Yes. You’ve helped me address areas of my personality and thought process that were potentially limiting my growth and helped me see the value that I present and therefore should receive.

What would you say to someone who’s considering me as a coach and might be on the fence?

I would tell them to give it a shot. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I would also say that they will probably be surprised by what they get out of it if they are willing to listen and execute.

Any final words or thoughts?
